Right next to the Ancient Agora, we find Hadrian's Library. It was built in 132 AD by Roman Emperor Hadrian, who ruled between 117 and 138 AD. The library stored books (at the time, rolls of papyrus!) in niches, and also had an auditorium and study rooms. One of the most impressive findings of the archaelogical site was a statue of the goddess Nike (Victoria in Roman) over 3 meters tall!
This is the travel journal of our trip around Greece and Turkey, in the fall of 2019.
