The universality of disease is in this case sustained by a universal neurobiology, which justifies introducing in different cultural contexts transcultural intervention packages and modes of diagnosis while at the same time acknowledging variation at the level of the expression and triggers of psychopathology (Cohen, Patel, and Minas 2014; Patel 2012; WHO 2013).
