Coup of 18 Brumaire

Napoleon's Coup of 18 Brumaire is the event considered to have ended the French Revolution, and is often called a "bloodless coup". It was a complex arrangement of resignements and military power, better explained on the video below, that ended with the power being shared by the three people involved in orchestrating this event: Abbé Sieyès, Roger Ducos and Napoleon himself. A new Constitution was written, edited by Napoleon, and with the new law he made the First Consul, the position he held, the most powerful of the three, thus completing his "coup within a coup".
